1. hand to mouth: (주로 명사 앞에 씀) 근근이 먹고 사는
ex) We lived from hand to mouth during the war. Things were very difficult.
2. apple of your eye: 아주 소중한
ex) His two year old daughter is the apple of his eye.
3. all thumbs: 서투르고 어색한
ex) Poor Tom can't play the piano at all. He is all thumbs.
4. back to square one: 바라던 결과를 얻지 못해서 처음부터 다시 시작하다
ex) If this suggestion is not accepted, we will be back to square one.
