* If 생략 (were + 주어~)로 주어와 동사가 도치된다
ex) HAD he HAD enough money, he could have bought the digital camera. (=If he had had~)
-그가 돈이 충분히 있었다면, 그 디지털 카메라를 살 수 있었을 텐데.-
HAD it STOPPED raining, would you have taken us to the zoo?
-비가 멈추었다면, 우리를 동물원에 데리러 주었을까?
* 가정법 대용어구
(a) If it were not for~ = Were it not for~ = Without~ = But for~: ~이 없다면
ex) IF IT WERE NOT FOR science, our lives would be much less convenient.
(과학이 없다면, 우리의 삶은 훨씬 불편할 것이다)
(b) If it had not been for~ = Had it not been for~ = Without~ = But for~: ~이 없었다면
ex) HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR his home run, the team might have lost the game.
(그의 홈런이 없었다면, 팀은 경기에 졌을지도 모른다)
BUT FOR television, we might read more books.
(=Without television,~ =If it were not for television,~ =Were it not for television,~)
- 텔레비젼이 없다면, 우리는 책을 좀 더 많이 읽을텐데.
