"Give me a break!"은 "좀 봐주세요."또는 "절 잠시 그냥 두세요."정도로 해석합니다^^ 상대방이 당신을 너무 궁지로 몬다거나 바쁘게 할 경우 또는 가끔씩은 상대방이 하는 말에 좀 짜증이 나서 그만 말하길 바랄때도 사용이 가능 하겠네요.
A : Kavin, did you go to the dentist this afternoon?
B : Yes, mom.
A : What about your homework? Did you finish it?
And did you feed and walk the dog?
By the way why don't you change your clothes?
B : Yeh, I was going to do.
A : Kavin, how many times do i have to tell you?
You should do those things right away when you come home.
A : Mom i just got home and i'm really tired ,i will do a little later.
B : But you should start doing........
A : Come on , give me a break!
A : 캐빈, 오후에 치과에 다녀왔니?
B : 네, 엄마.
A : 숙제는 어떻게 됐니?끝냈어? 그리고 개한테 밥주고 산책도 시켰니?
근데 너 옷은 왜 안갈아 입니?
B : 네, 하려고 했어요.
A : 캐빈 몇번이나 말해야 알겠니?
집에 오면 바로바로 하란말이야.
B : 엄마 나 집에 금방 온데다가 정말 피곤하다구요. 좀 이따가 할게요.
A : 하지만 너 그거 바로 시작해야하지......
B : 제발 저 좀 그냥 둬요!
