call 과 call to
전치사 to 하나 붙었을 뿐인데, 의미는 완전 달라지니,
꼭 알아둬야겠습니다.
call: 전화하다
call to: 소리쳐 부르다
전치사 to 에 의해 의미가 확연히 달라지므로 대화 중에 'call' 뒤에
전치사가 붙는지 안 붙는지 잘 들어야 합니다.
Ex) A: Jane, is that Mary across the street?
J: Yes, it is.
A: Call to her. (=Yell to her) Maybe she wants a ride home.
J: Is Dad going to be home for dinner?
A: I'm not sure. Call him (telephone him) at the office and find out.
